Child and Youth Protection
Our Lady of Mercy is committed to providing a safe environment for children. The parish adheres to the norms of the diocesan Child Protection Program.
That program has 3 components:
|
- fingerprints and/or background checks
- safe environment training
- acceptance of diocesan Code of Ethics for Adults Working with Minors

Part I
Print out the four page Application Form and upon completion return it to the church office. Note under "Declarations" (page 4) you must INITIAl each statement or your form will not be accepted.
Part II
Workshops promoting a "Safe Environment for Children" are being scheduled throughout the Diocese of Baton Rouge. These informational sessions are designed to inform Catholic School and Church employees, and volunteers about the dangers of child abuse, as well as how to monitor and report inappropriate behavior.
